Planning Your Wedding
Providing adequate portable restrooms and hand washing facilities is the responsibility of the event planner or host. It is important not only to meet basic sanitary requirements but to also ensure the comfort of the guests.
Experience has shown that if adequate facilities are not provided, guests will leave an event to find restrooms elsewhere and/or they don't return to the event. This will negatively reflect on the overall success of the event.
Here is some information to assist you with your planning:
- The average person will use the restroom once every three to four hours.
- If alcohol is being served, assume one more use for each person drinking.
- Consider the weather, if it is hot people will likely drink more and need to go to the restroom more frequently.
- Consider crowd flow. Does everyone use the restrooms at the same time like intermission? Will the event allow for staggered use? This will help determine the best layout.
